Tailored Nutritional Therapy

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy is a personalised, science-based approach to improving health and well-being through diet and lifestyle changes, tailored to individual needs. Unlike general dietary advice, nutritional therapy focuses on personalised recommendations. It considers the unique needs of each individual, tailoring interventions to achieve long-term health goals. Helping you to make healthy habits that last a lifetime.

Healthy eating consists of three primary principles:

  • Eating a balanced diet.
  • Having a healthy attitude towards food.
  • Understanding the environmental impact of your diet.

With so much information and guidance readily available, it's important to remember not everything comes from a trustworthy source, and it might not all be relevant to you. The overwhelm of information can be tricky to navigate and that’s where a professional can step in, and work with you to devise a tailored plan, to suit your needs and wants.

How we incorporate Nutritional Therapy here at Serenity Natural Health

Typically our nutritional therapist will assess:

  • your current eating habits
  • lifestyle
  • exercise
  • medical history and symptoms (provided at your initial testing)
  • goals and timeframes
  • your view of ‘healthy’

We look at your results from your testing in combination with the above to identify the nutrient deficiencies, digestive imbalance, and/or underlying factors contributing to your current health concerns. Based on this evaluation, we will then create a tailored food plan with lifestyle tips.

This can include:

  • Adjustments to your current diet to ensure a balanced intake of essential nutrients, while supporting a more feasible transition to a healthier diet.
  • The introduction of specific vitamins, minerals through food types or supplements to address deficiencies.
  • Lifestyle recommendations, such as stress management techniques or activity levels.

Your tailored plan will provide an overall healthy structure to your diet, give you the knowledge of what works best for you, and provide you with the tools to lead a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

How can it help?

You might know what your end goal is, whether that’s weight management, how to eat a healthy, balanced diet or wanting to get your five-a-day, but you might not understand quite how to get there. You can have the best intentions but sometimes it can be hard to maintain a new approach in your lifestyle if you haven’t the research or knowledge to fuel your change in habits. Making changes towards your eating habits is about making changes to lead a balanced lifestyle, that aids your overall well-being.

It is not restricted to those managing illness but can be equally valuable for individuals seeking to optimise their overall wellbeing. Here are some common scenarios where nutritional therapy proves beneficial:

  1. Managing Chronic Conditions: Those with conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), type 2 diabetes, or autoimmune disorders can benefit from dietary strategies tailored to their specific needs.
  2. Boosting Energy and Performance: Whether you’re an athlete looking to enhance performance or someone battling chronic fatigue, nutritional therapy can identify gaps in nutrition that may be impacting energy levels.
  3. Improving Mental Wellbeing: Emerging research highlights the connection between nutrition and mental health. A Nutritional Therapist may recommend dietary adjustments to support mood, focus, and stress resilience.
  4. Preventative Health: For those keen to maintain peak health, nutritional therapy offers strategies to optimise diet and lifestyle, reducing the risk of future health issues.

It goes beyond general advice, offering tailored solutions designed to empower individuals to take control of their health. Whether you’re looking to resolve specific issues or simply feel your best, nutritional therapy can provide the tools to make meaningful, lasting changes.

The greatest wealth is health.
